Inspired by the traditional Swedish children's toy, a wooden
horse, Niro Wang's AW16 collection 'seeks the meeting point between nature and
urban life', this is shown through the funky prints and shapes throughout the
collection.
The Scandi influences are clear through the simple use of designs
and patterns on the garments, as well as the earth toned colour palette bought
to life by these bold patterns. Each garment, although using similar prints such
as the wooden horse and leaf, are still unique and different through the use of
colours and textures.
The show as a whole was a very surreal and absorbing experience,
making you feel as though you were part of the wooden horse's Toyland.
You can really see the fusion between the Swedish heritage
of the horse and the modern designs. A blend of old meets new. We loved the collection and think Niro Wang is
a definitely a designer to watch!
